Submersible Pumps
Pumps make life and work easier by getting liquids out of the way fast. The design of a submersible water pump requires you to “submerge” it in a fluid. Sometimes called electric submersible pumps or ESPs, they are efficient in a variety of settings. To get optimal results from any pump, you need to choose the right one for the job....
The most common use for submersible pumps is to pump water out of a basement. They not only help prevent flooding during heavy rains but also keep moisture out of basements that lead to mould and mildew. But, an electric submersible water pump is also useful for industrial applications, including:
Sewage
Stormwater
Bore Water
Chemicals and Foodstuffs
Black Water
Grey Water
Subsoil Water
Trade Waste
Commercially, ESPs are used to remove water from mines, construction sites, basement car parks, and in trade waste processing. At Beton Tools, we offer a broad range of submersible water pumps from Tsurumi. They are a leading brand in the rental and construction markets for their range of reliable and cost-effective pumps.
Benefits of a Submerged Water Pump Over Other Types
Since an ESP is submerged in the water, it isn’t subject to pump cavitation. This is a common occurrence in settings where there is a high disparity in elevation between the surface of the fluid and that of the pump.
Submersible pumps are also more energy-efficient. It takes less power to push water to the surface than it does to pull it as with jet pumps. The pressure of the water moves the liquid into the pump. You never have to prime a submerged water pump, either, because it is already submerged in the water.
An Extensive Range of Choices Give You Versatility
You have limited uses for any style of submersible pump, but the selection of styles available makes them highly versatile. Some can only handle liquids while others can also handle solids such as waste. Single-phase pumps are best for home use and light industrial pumping while multiple phase pumps handle anything from pumping sewage to oil from oil wells.
We offer a range of submersible water pumps for a broad range of applications. Our abrasion resistant pumps are perfect for pumping out abrasive solids from slurries and for solving difficult applications. General-purpose pumps solve many drainage problems in various situations.
Choosing the right submersible pump for your application can be challenging. Although all pumps look a lot alike, it’s what is on the inside that makes one pump a better solution than another. Its capabilities will determine whether it will get the job done for you without adding any more problems to the situation.
One of the first things to consider is the depth of liquid you need to pump. The immersion depth of your pump should be greater than the depth of the liquid. The pump uses the water to cool the motor. Running it without completely submersing the pump can cause it to overheat and get damaged.
Know the maximum head and flow rate you need. The head of a water pump tells you the longest distance in height it can pump the water. The flow rate of a pump tells you how much water it can pump in litres per minute. If you purchase a pump with an 80-metre maximum head and try to use it at 100 metres, you will get a flow rate of zero.
Quality is one of the most important things to consider when you buy any electric submersible water pump. If you make the right choice, your investment will work for you for a long time. Contact us for help choosing the right submersible water pump for your needs.
